01What hardware do I need?
A computer, tablet or phone with a browser. Taka POS works with USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners, prints on 58 mm and 80 mm receipt printers (directly over USB or Bluetooth in Chrome and Edge) or A4, and can use any phone’s camera as a scanner.
02How does the phone scanner work?
Click “Connect phone” on the till and scan the QR code. The phone opens a scanner page — no app or login — and every barcode it reads is added to the cart instantly. It stays connected until you disconnect it.
03How do you track expiry dates?
Every delivery is stored as a batch with its cost, selling price and expiry. Sales take from the batch that expires first, and products close to expiry or already expired are flagged on the overview.
04Can I sell on credit?
Yes. At checkout you can take part of the total and leave the rest as due on the client’s account. Take the payment later from the sale, and see every client’s outstanding balance.
05Can I manage several branches?
Yes. Each branch has its own till, stock, purchases and expenses, while products, suppliers and clients are shared. Staff can be assigned to one or more branches.
06Can staff have different permissions?
Yes. Every user has a role — owner, admin, manager or cashier — and the owner decides what managers and cashiers may do in each part of the system. You can require two-factor sign-in for the whole company, and the activity log keeps sign-ins, security changes and key operations.
07Does it work without internet?
Yes. An open till keeps selling when the connection drops: sales are saved on the device, receipts still print, and everything syncs by itself when you are back online. Each device only sells the stock it last knew it had.
08How do shifts and cash counts work?
Turn shifts on and each cashier opens a shift on a cash drawer. Cash drops and deposits are recorded, and at handover the cash counted is compared with what should be there. A difference within your limit closes the shift; a bigger one needs a supervisor PIN and can be reviewed later.
09Can I do a stock count?
Yes. Start a stock take for the branch, count each product by hand or scan it with a paired phone, and see the shortage or surplus as you go. When a manager completes it, the corrections are written to the stock ledger.
10How do I get help when something goes wrong?
The owner opens a ticket from Settings → Help & support and chats with our team inside the dashboard. You can attach photos and files or send a voice note, and new replies arrive instantly with a chime. Support stays open even if your subscription has expired.
11Can I add many products at once?
Yes. Paste rows from Excel into the bulk-add sheet — columns are matched by English or Arabic headers — and each row becomes a product with its units, barcodes and opening stock. Bulk edit opens your whole catalogue as a sheet so you can change prices and categories in place.
12Are receipts available in Arabic?
Yes. The whole system works in Arabic and English, receipts print right-to-left in Arabic, and you can translate your product names into both languages.
